Requirements & Policies


REQUIREMENTS

All students must be 16 years of age or older.

A drivers license is not required for the training but may be required for employment purposes after.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
It is the responsibility of the student to supply themselves with all the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes:

• CSA Approved steel toed boots
• CSA Approved hard hat
• Work Gloves
• Overalls or Coveralls (student preference)
• Reflective Safety Vest

We supply the generic ear plugs for hearing protection if needed. If a student prefers better quality hearing protection they must supply such themselves.

SAFETY TICKETS

It is recommended that all students have or obtain their WHIMIS (Workplace Hazardous Material Information System), First Aid/CPR and Ground Disturbance II safety tickets to compliment their HEO certificate and as is required for most employment in the industry. These safety tickets are not offered by PTI or included in the HEO programs.  There are safety training facilities which strictly offer such safety tickets.


 POLICIES

1.  The language of instruction at the Institute is English.
2.  Students must wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at ALL times when on the training site.
3.  Discrimination of any kind will NOT be tolerated.
4.  Alcohol, drugs and horseplay will absolutely not be tolerated on any Practicum Training Institute training site.
5.  The operation of any equipment is NOT permitted unless under the supervision of an instructor.


 PAYMENT POLICY

ALL TUITION PAYMENTS must be received by the Institute on or before the program START DATE – NO EXCEPTIONS.

The Institute does not accept debit/credit card transactions.  Payment must be made in the form of cash, cheque, certified cheque, money order or by e-transfer to pti@sasktel.net.

* Should debit/credit be your preferred choice of payment, please visit any Canada Post office to purchase a money order in that form and forward the money order to the Institute.

 


RECEIPTS / T2202 TUITION TAX RECEIPT

The Institute will provide the student or funding source with a receipt once payment of tuition fees has been received or once tuition fee payments have cleared (for personal cheque payments).

T2202 Tuition Tax Receipt will be issued at year end for income tax purposes.  This is only applicable for programs more than 3 weeks in length (so only for those taking the 240 Hour Pre-Employment HEO program)
